The Director of Studies at a Prague language school is having a meeting with a teacher in her office.Pavlina: ‘Well, Troy, please come in and sit down. I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but some of your students are unhappy with your lessons and we need to discuss it.’Troy: ‘Really? I’m very sorry to hear that.’
Pavlina: ‘Well firstly, they said you were ten minutes late last week.’
Troy: ‘Oh yeah … well I’m really sorry about that. I was out late the night before and I overslept. It won’t happen again.’
Pavlina: ‘And they said that your mobile phone is always ringing during the lesson.’
Troy: ‘It’s true, that’s totally my fault. I’ll switch it off before I go to class.’
Pavlina: ‘Yes. They also said that you don’t seem to put much effort into planning your lessons.’
Troy: ‘Yeah, I guess I owe them an apology. I need to try harder. So sorry that I let you down Pavlina. Is there anything I can do to make it up to you?’
Pavlina: ‘Well, I told the students we truly regret the problems and will try to put things right.’
Troy: ‘I’ll try to do better. I apologize for any inconvenience Pavlina.’
